During our Roll Down Justice series we’ve been reflecting on the work God has for us to do. Today at communion, we proclaimed how new birth for creation broke forth upon us in Jesus. As the Spirit anointed him to preach good new to the poor, to proclaim release to the captives, and recover of sight to the bling, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to announce that the time had come when you would save your people. He healed the sick, fed the hungry and ate with sinners. In these acts of love and justice we see the birth of our call as church to let the waters of justice roll. (Thanks to Marcia McFee and the Worship Design Studio for this “hands-on” communion liturgy where everyone lifted up the work we have to). Let’s get to work!
